Hello geeks,today i’m gonna to show you How to Hide Text Message behind an Image using Steganography ? what is Steganography ? .So, my topic is all about that to hide text behind image using Steganography technique .You can hide links ,message or any text behind image ,mp3 or file.

Steganography is very old technique to hide message or text ,but later this was introduced in digital computer world.

Below image will give you idea of Steganography .Both images are identical but second image is Encrypted and hides some text.So,let’s explore Steganography.

• What is Steganography? 

  Steganography is the technology of writing hidden messages in such a way that no one apart from the sender and intended recipient even realizes there is a hidden message such as hidden messages in image.Actually, Steganography term is originated from Greek word; steganos means “covered” and graphien means “writing”. Steganography is the process of hiding a secret message with ordinary content, generally images, text and then extracting the messages when it reaches the destination.Anyone can’t image that image or data contains hidden messages ,except sender and receiver.Well this very basic Steganography method ,but probably helpful to introduce Steganography to beginners.There are lot of professional Steganography tools over internet for confidential data purposes and these tools uses high level cryptology to encrypt data with special algorithm which can be only readable with same software ,other people can’t see that data or file.

  How to Hide Text Message behind an Image :

  Here we are hiding our text message behind image using CMD in windows.
  
  Step 1 : Select a image for Steganography and rename it as ” image.jpg “.
  Step 2 : Create a new text file and name it as “ text.txt “.Now add your text in text file and click on save.
  Step 3 : Place both files in a same directory .Like i have created a folder on desktop and placed both file inside it.
  Step 4 : Now open command as administrator ,locate the path to your files (in our case it’s \Desktop\Steganography\) in command prompt.Let’s make it tricky ,if you don’t know how to locate files with command then just simple copy it’s path and paste it in command prompt(see in image).
  
  
  
  
  

   

  Step 5 : After loacting path to your files .Type the command
  ” COPY /B image.jpg + text.txt newfile.jpg ”
  Step 6 : Now you will see a newly generated file named as ” newfile ” in folder and that image contains your hidden text.
  
  

  How to reveal hidden text message from image?

  You just have to open your steganography’s image file in a text editor like notepad++ etc.Goto end of the file you will see text like in below image.
  
  
  
  
  

  How to detect Steganography ? what is Steganalysis ?

  Detection of Steganography process is called Steganalysis .Steganalysis is the study of detecting messages hidden using steganography; this is analogous to cryptanalysis applied to cryptography.
  In simple words, steganalysis deal with the hidden content and identifying its existence.
